Increased consumption of fresh vegetables that are high in polyphenols has been associated with a reduced risk of oxidative stress-induced disease. Spinach extract showed a remarkable hepato-protective and anti-oxidant activities against paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity as judged from serum marker enzymes (AST, ALP) .Now a day’s medicinal plant is a fruitful research instead of traditional drug delivery system. Biochemical tests like bilirubin, liver function test (LFT) estimation also provide the shared of evidences for high and non-toxic efficacy of the green extract in symptomatic treatment of hyper-bilirubinemia. Based on this mechanistic view, this review summarizes the mechanisms that may account for the production of ROS and our green extract have some potential role to reduce the ROS generation. The effect of green extract is better in compared to conventional medicine like Silymarin drug which is used for jaundice treatment.
